Vignes Balasingam has been photographing his world since the age of 12, meticulously piecing his world together on strips of negatives. Professionally, Vignes Balasingam's work is centered around his corporate clients, taking on documentary work, portraiture, essays, travel and advertising photography locally and abroad.

His conceptual work with the Malaysian music scene has delivered a multitude of photographs, album covers, inlays and artwork in the last two years. His extensive photo-documentary work on the local music scene can be found on this website. His portfolio also includes various international acts who have performed in the region.

Portraiture and photo-essays are his passion. His essays on Thaipusam and the Kuala Lumpur underground music scene are two long-term projects he's been working on. He actively works on portraiture projects for individuals and groups of people.

He shoots on various film and digital formats. Currently, Vignes Balasingam resides in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
