Bauchara Maatha Festival
The Bauchara Maatha festival is a homage to the heroism of the patron goddess of the transgender community in India and its diaspora. In Kuala Lumpur, the festival is celebrated with fanfare in suburban localities with a large Hindu population like Sentul and Klang. This short-lived reportage was originally a story following the matriarch of this community who sadly passed away prematurely. The project now lives with a short collection of this elusive community and an extended video interview which is still in post-production.
